Welcome to the Metro New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Our mission is to be a national leader in appraisal education; to foster a spirit of camaraderie, attract top level real estate professionals to our organization, and engender an atmosphere of professional pride, outstanding achievement and success for those affiliated with the chapter and their firms.

Everyone (AI and Non-AI students) must have a user name (email address) and password (reset by signing in to the Appraisal Institute website, and choose forgot password to get link to reset). When registering, keep in mind registration fees are priced according to a reduced fee for downloading materials and do not include a hard copy of materials. You will pay an additional fee for materials and shipping if you do not want to print materials on your own or bring an electronic device.

Schedule Changes due to COVID-19

The Metro New Jersey Chapter is following the recommendations of the CDC and the AQB for classroom and Virtual Classes. You must have video and audio capability on your computer, phone or tablet to take Virtual Classes. You cannot take a class for credits from a vehicle. In addition Virtual education for previously approved classroom education is accepted in several states, but not all states. Virtual education has been extended for 2020 and at a minimum the first half of 2021, but this is a state by state option. New Jersey is following the AQB guidelines which is extending Virtual education in place of classroom education.

7 Hour USPAP 2020-2021 @ TBD

There are two (2) required books for this class: the 2020-2021, 7 Hour USPAP Update student handbook which is ordered through the Appraisal Institute and the Appraisal Foundation’s 2020-2021, Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP) Book.

If you choose printed materials when registering for the Appraisal Institute course, you will pay an additional $15 plus shipping. If you do not choose printed materials, you will download your materials from your Appraisal Institute account portal, Education and Events section.

The chapter has a limited amount of USPAP books for purchase or you can choose to download the USPAP book from the Appraisal Foundation website at If you would like the Appraisal Foundation’s 2020-2021 USPAP book, the cost is $75 to mail to you and please email and send your mailing address.

Virtual Meeting Participation Guidelines:

Students must have webcam/iphone/ipad/smartphone capability to participate and receive continuing education credit. The platform will be interactive and live. The instructor must be able to physically see and interact with all students and students must be able see and interact with the instructor.


A copy of your driver’s license must be emailed to the Chapter office as verification after you have registered for the offering prior to the offering start date.


ZOOM access link will be emailed to student prior to the offering in separate email from registration confirmation.


You do not need a paid account from ZOOM to participate.


If you are using your Ipad/Iphone/smartphone please download the ZOOM app prior to offering.


Please check your webcam privacy settings on your computer.


If you have a Lenovo laptop, you must have the Lenovo Vantage App installed on your computer for webcam to work.
