The session combines instruction, live demonstrations, and professional guidance to help appraisers understand the capabilities, benefits, and limitations of AI tools such as Google Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Participants will gain knowledge on integrating AI into their workflow responsibly, while also considering disclosure and ethical implications. This is not a continuation of Part 1 but will be more in depth and detailed.

We start with a quick overview of the basics of artificial intelligence and discuss what buzzwords like “LLM” stand for and mean. Examples of how artificial intelligence can be utilized in appraisals and in business practices will be explained.
12:20-12:50 pm Google Gemini and ChatGPT Demos
We will create live demos of two major AI platforms, Google Gemini (free) and OpenAI’s ChatGPT (paid version). This walkthrough will show the interfaces and highlight basic features. A practical discussion of how appraisers can leverage this technology for professional marketing and communication.

1:00-1:10 pm Limitations and Error Prevention with AI
We will share real examples of ChatGPT errors and limitations observed in practice. Share the caution to appraisers to check their work and utilize prompts that would help minimize errors. The speakers will highlight the space is ever evolving and that changes and improvements come fast.
1:10-1:40 Applied Use Cases for Appraisers
Thorough live demonstrations of specific prompts and examples of how appraisers have used ChatGPT will be shared. Examples may include: drafting engagement letters, summarizing market data, creating client communications, or outlining sections of appraisal reports.
1:40-1:45 Legal Considerations and Disclosure
Speakers will briefly share legal considerations and privacy concerns when using AI. There is a distinction between public and private information and to understand what is happening with data that one shares with AI.
1:45 – 2:00 pm Q & A
